Fish oils are oils that come from the fatty tissues of oily fish. The main omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oils are eicosatetraenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega-3 fatty acids are truly necessary for survival. Over 40,000 studies have been published on EPA and DHA, with over 4,000 being human clinical trials. The research in the medical field on omega-3s indicates that consuming enough of them can have positive effects on various aspects of overall well-being, such as heart, brain, eye, and prenatal/maternal health. EFSA has acknowledged the significance of Omega-3 and has approved health claims regarding blood pressure, brain function, vision, and cardiac function based on scientific research.
